I was delighted when Rorie and Andrew got in touch for their civil partnership photography at Richmond Register Office and Holiday Inn Brent Dock, West London. It was not only because I love to photograph civil partnerships, but I also love when different cultures and guests of from all over the world and all ages come together celebrate a momentous occasion.
Rorie is Australian. Andrew English and Austrian. They live in and love West London, so the evening was a great mix of details (koalas and Lindt chocolates), colours (red and blue) and fun-loving family and friends at a evening black tie affair. In an emotional ceremony, the couple tied the knot with their very personal rings and beautiful readings, including one of my favourite poems from Auden. Then it was off for drinks, dinner and dancing in the ballroom right on the Docks. What I particularly loved about Rorie’s and Andrew’s wedding was the attention to detail and efforts to ensure the day worked for parents, siblings, friends and the little nieces and nephews.
I am honoured to have been asked to be Rorie’s and Andrew’s civil partnership photographer, and the photos hopefully give a taste of the beautiful, happy day!
