Karen and Karen got in touch with me about their civil partnership photography a few months ago when they were at the early stages of planning their ceremony and reception. I knew immediately, from the couple’s friendliness and huge group of friend that they were including that I was in for a treat. Their civil partnership did not disappoint, and I can honestly say, it was one of the most fun events I have ever photographed. I finished the evening with a sense of euphoria.
From the fun of Bow in London’s East End, and all the character that entails – yes, we could hear the bells of Bow – to a day that included a friend in drag, the coolest ever hipster father of the bride, a nerved-wrecked Karen laughing so hard she could barely get out her vows, hilarious comedy routines, a brilliant all-female band, delicious food, lots of dancing and a team of African drummers, the whole day was a celebration of life and all that is fun, happy and good!
I had a great time and am so honoured to have had the chance to capture the happy couple’s civil partnership photography in London.
