Martin and Mark’s civil partnership at the National Theatre

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

I met Martin and Mark when I was very early in my pregnancy and told them straight away I would be 7 months pregnant for their big day.  They were fabulous and almost jumped out of their chair in congratulations – just the kinds of civil partnership photography clients I love to have.

Martin’s and Mark’s civil partnership on the 19th of June was at the fabulous National Theatre rooftop deck. Mark is not only theatrical himself, but also works for the National Theatre. As you might expect, everything was perfect for the celebration of his and Martin’s love!

The day was marked not only by a simple but lovely ceremony between the boys, but also 6 excellent and hilarious speeches, including one by Martin’s mother which I will never forget about childbirth,  and it was clear that Martin and Mark have amazing families and a huge set of fabulous and erudite friends!

The National Gardening Museum was in full blossom, but after the civil partnership ceremony and a refreshing boatride along the Thames, drinks and canapes were indoors.  There were coloured lights, gorgeous flowers and a true sense of party with the decorations, guests and food, and I do not think the boys could have asked for a better wedding.

Tony & John’s civil partnership at the Hempel Hotel

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Tony planned the amazing civil partnership ceremony and party for his partner, John, and himself as a great surprise.  Although John knew they were getting married (obviously!), he didn’t know any of the details of the day which included Tony donning a matching kilt in honour of Scottish John.

The couple live in Jersey and flew in to London with their 30 close friends for a brilliant weekend civil partnership at the Hempel Hotel in Lancaster Gate.  Tony had strong feelings on what he wanted from his photographs, as he is a professional wedding photographer himself at Ivory Pictures.  He had several of his professional photographer friends armed with cameras on the day- so no pressure there then!

Tony and John were delighted with their photos and were even kind enough to write: “We are lost for words – we love them – you have exceeded personal expectations, and that doesn’t happen very often. You caught exactly what I was after!”

Thanks guys, for a fantastic day and being amazing clients!

Gavan & Scott’s civil partnership at the Royal Society of Arts

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Gavan and Scott celebrated their civil partnership on the 20th of December at the Royal Society of Arts with a decidedly Christmas theme, and I was honoured to be doing the civil partnership photography.

I know I think this about every wedding which I do; however, this was one of my favourites!  The RSA’s Vaults were decorated with Christmas trees galore, there was a Dickensian Room with traditional carollers, a Winter Wonderland, a living Icemaiden Statue and a photobooth for their lucky wedding guests!

Kit & Beau’s civil partnership at Marylebone Town Hall

Monday, September 8th, 2008

I was delighted to photograph the civil partnership of two Australian on the 16th of July at Marylebone Town Hall and drinks afterwards at the Landmark Hotel.

As an honorary Aussie myself who can put on a dinkum faux-Aussie accent(as I am married to a boy from Perth), I had a brilliant time!  We managed to get some really fun, summery civil partnership portraits in Regent’s Park!  Congratulations to Kit and Beau!
