Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

This is so pretty and tender, I thought I’d revisit this wedding from the summer with a couple of highlights.

Just a few details from another modest Islamic bride as her female wedding photographer….

Segregated Islamic wedding with a female wedding photographer

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

I have had the honour of photographing at many Islamic weddings, including this recent segregated Islamic wedding.

In fact, as a female wedding photographer with years of Asian wedding experience, Islamic weddings have become a bit of a speciality and passion of mine.

I love that as female wedding photographer I can go in and capture the girls’ preparations with all its excitement and air of anticipation; and I love, love, love doing East meets West couple photography of the bride and groom for a really special set of natural, timeless photographs.

Of course, the fact that I edit my own photos also means I can ensure that they are only seen by women and that they are only used on my site with the bride’s permission.

One tough family portrait for this photographer

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

There’s only one client who you can complain about, and that’s your family. My fantastic sister, brother in law and wonderful and boisterious nephew asked me for a  family portrait while I was visiting in Texas.

I only had my little canon compact (travelling with a one year old from England meant I didn’t bring my big camera), and I had to create lots of games and bribes to keep baby Sean willing to partcipate (not to mention what I had to do to get my sister to partcipate).

For a family that never stays still for one minute and isn’t a fan of being photographed, I’m delighted with the family portrait.

Baby Photographer for Quinn

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

I met Renee and Quinn at my Pushy Mothers buggy class, so I already knew that Quinn, while one of the cutest babies in town, was an active little thing and was going to keep me on my toes during his Hampstead photography session.

We decided as the autumn weather was gorgeous, and he was happiest having a crawl followed by a cuddle, to let him roam.

He loved exploring the fall leaves in the sunshine and made a fantastically happy baby photographer and some pretty amazing photos as well.

One little tip for all baby photography which I have learned through my experience as a professional photographer is to let he baby do what makes him or her happiest and capture that in a photograph rather than trying to get a particular photograph.

Hampstead Photography for Pushy Mothers

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Here’s a great shot of my instructor, friend and motivator- Rachel of Pushy Mothers whose corporate portraits I did recently.

I love her great buggy workout in Hampstead Heath! I’m so lucky she recommends me to the mums in her classes, so that I have the opportunity to photography some pretty special babies and families with my Hampstead photography sessions.

Chelsea Wedding Photography

Monday, October 17th, 2011

Maha and David called me at the last minute because Chelsea Town Hall had moved their wedding date forward a few weeks, and it all worked with their London visit from Jordan and Dubai.

They needed wedding photography at Chelsea Town Hall and they needed it quick!  A few close friends attended the ceremony and then we all had a mosey down the Kings Road to the Bluebird Restaurant for champagne and canapes.

While the happy couple just relaxed and walked to the wedding reception, I photographed as unobtrusively as possible for a real London feel to some natural photographs.

The day turned out to be the perfect city wedding!

Blessed Hindu wedding photography for Sha & Simon

Monday, October 17th, 2011

Sha and Simon had a Hindu blessing ceremony at Premier House Banqueting in Northwest London a couple of weeks after their Jewish wedding ceremony.

It was a relaxed affair with lots of dancing and yummy, yummy food.  What was really fun with the wedding photography for Sha and Simon was how close knit their families were, and how much a North London Jewish family and an East London Indian family had in common in terms of values and the things that really matter most.

One of my favourite shots of the night was Sha’s sweet grandfather looking like he was enjoying the evening as much as she was!

Female Photographer at London’s Jumeriah Calrton Tower

Monday, October 17th, 2011

As a female photographer, I think I appreciate all the details and planning that goes into the wedding day – it’s not just about the wedding, but family, clothes, decorations, music and a million other happy and bittersweet emotions.

Shehla and Tansel has part two of their wedding at the gorgeous Jumeriah Carlton Tower in Knightsbridge. They wanted to have a mix of their heritage, Islamic Asian and Turkish, so the music and decorations reflected this in great fusion style.

Shehla looked amazing in her dress which had so many gems that it weighed more than she did! Although it was extremely heavy, I think everyone would agreee that she looked stunning and it was all worth the effort!

On of my other favourite details of the day was their 7-tier cake which was carrot cake and perhaps the best I’ve ever had!!!

Jewish Wedding Photography for Sha & Simon

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

I met Sha and Simon almost a year before the big day for their Jewish wedding photography.

When I first heard of a Jewish wedding with a mix of Shahnaz’s Asian culture, I knew it was going to be a unique experience. Since I had done both Jewish wedding photography as well as Asian, it was a new epxerience which I really looked forward to all year.

The big day did not disappoint with a stunning Jewish ceremony and dancing galore. The clear emphasis was on family and friends, and it became clear these two are very blessed to have large, close families and a fabulous bunch of friend who all participated in the planning and details of the very special day!
