Martin and Mark’s civil partnership at the National Theatre

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

I met Martin and Mark when I was very early in my pregnancy and told them straight away I would be 7 months pregnant for their big day.  They were fabulous and almost jumped out of their chair in congratulations – just the kinds of civil partnership photography clients I love to have.

Martin’s and Mark’s civil partnership on the 19th of June was at the fabulous National Theatre rooftop deck. Mark is not only theatrical himself, but also works for the National Theatre. As you might expect, everything was perfect for the celebration of his and Martin’s love!

The day was marked not only by a simple but lovely ceremony between the boys, but also 6 excellent and hilarious speeches, including one by Martin’s mother which I will never forget about childbirth,  and it was clear that Martin and Mark have amazing families and a huge set of fabulous and erudite friends!

The National Gardening Museum was in full blossom, but after the civil partnership ceremony and a refreshing boatride along the Thames, drinks and canapes were indoors.  There were coloured lights, gorgeous flowers and a true sense of party with the decorations, guests and food, and I do not think the boys could have asked for a better wedding.

Pembroke Lodge wedding photography | Claire & Nick

Monday, June 28th, 2010

So it’s time to blog my Pembroke Lodge wedding photography.

I have not kept up with my blogging this spring as I have photographed so many weddings and have been super busy keeping on top of things while expecting.

I now plan to put up some highlights of all the lovely weddings I have photographed in recent months!

Claire and Nick were married at lovely Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park – surrounded by their friends and family and gorgeous spring tulips!

Asian wedding photography for Saima & Kris

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I have been really busy with weddings this spring, partcularly April and May, despite the lack of postings on the blog! Especially with large Asian wedding photography which has longs hours of coverage, it is easy to get behind on admin despite perseverence.

Saima and Kris met me through a past bride whose wedding I photographed in Liverpool a couple of years ago (you can still see some of their portfolio photos on the portfolio section of my site all these years later), and I was delighted to cover their beautiful wedding in Leeds at the gorgeous Art Deco Queens Hotel.  We also snuck away during the break and took couple portraits in Kirkdale Abbey grounds for a really atmosperic and fun afternoon.

One thing I really loved about Saima was her relaxed nature and poise.  She may well have been one of the easiest brides to photograph ever!  Kris was a dream as well- super sweet, completely in love with Saima and an artistic spirit as a video graphics designer.  Together they will be unstoppable.

My good friend Julie Kim also helped me out by doing the boys’s photos in the moprning and running a photobooth to entertain the guests during the break and give them a really special keepsake from the wedding.

Here are some of the highlights of the day which I partcularly loved:

Wedding Photography Pembroke Lodge, Richmond | Becky and Andy

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Becky and Andy were married at lovely Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park on the 20th of March.

Their gorgeous little boy, Reuben, was a star guest, and despite threats of pouring rain, we did manage to quickly go out for some photographs in fron of the camellia’s which were in full bloom.

You can see how happy this lovely family is and is going to be! Congratulations to all three of you!

Wedding Photography | Islington Town Hall | Lisette and Matt

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Lisette and Matt had a relaxed and elegant ceremony at Islington Town Hall on the 13th of March surrounded by their close family and friends.

The Karma Kab dropped Lisette and her mum off and then whisked Matt and Lisette away to the pub and reflects their love of travel and India!

I had a great time photographing this lovely couple – congratulations to you both!

WPJA Award Winning Photograph

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

When the results of the 2009 Q4 WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association) came out last week, I was quite excited to have won an award in the “emotion” category from Nemeeta’s wedding in October with an image of her father saying goodbye to her as she left with Biren.

Winter Wedding Photography for Tracey and Colin | Surrey

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Tracey and Colin planned a winter wedding in February, and as luck would have it, there was snow just before the ceremony and stunning winter late afternoon sunset!

Their civil ceremony was small and inimate with close friends and family, and we had a few minutes for some gorgeous photographs in the gardens of the Town Hall.

Islington Town Hall | Wedding Photography

Friday, January 29th, 2010

I have had a brilliant month, and one of the highlights has been the celebration of Meral and Ali’s wedding.

They had perfect weather for their civil ceremony on the 12th of September at Islington Town Hall, and Ali surprised his bride with a serenade by mariachi’s on the street outside!

Islington Town Hall is one of London’s most popular civil wedding venues, and offers dozens of options for reception venues. Many couples will choose hold their reception nearby on Islington’s Upper Street, but I have also known brides to hire a London double decker bus to take guests further afield.

If you are considering having your wedding here, I would be delighted to be your wedding photographer. Please use the contact page to get in touch.

Your London Wedding Magazine features ktb wedding photography

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

I have had the recent honour of having a wedding I photographed for the lovely Shilpa and Brendan at the Old Royal Naval College and the Amadeus Centre in Maida Vale not only featured but on the cover of the magazine Your London Wedding .

This was one of my very favourite weddings of the year, although you might find I say that about all of the weddings I have the honour of photographing! Shilpa and Brendan were a complete delight, and we have become fast friends since their May wedding.

I loved how the couple trusted me when I said that we didn’t need more than a brightly coloured door for amazing photographs because my photos are about the couple and their happiness, not about some background.
